Privacy Policy

Walking Footy United respects your privacy. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and your choices. If you have questions, contact us at admin@walkingfooty.com.

Age and children's accounts

Age policy updated 19 September 2026. Walking Footy and FootyFixturs share one Walking Footy account and database. The minimum account age is 13; we do not offer accounts for under-13s or a parental-consent exception.

We ask for a real date of birth to check the minimum age and age-limited features. It is stored on your central account, not in a separate FootyFixturs player database. Date of birth also supports competition eligibility and birthday Footy Points. Exact dates are not included in the apps' member directory.

A date-of-birth declaration is not independent proof of age. We may restrict an account and review concerns if the information appears incorrect. Existing accounts missing a date of birth must supply it before continuing to use account features.

A rejected new under-13 registration does not create an account or send a verification email. For an existing account identified as underage, access is restricted while our team reviews correction or deletion. A parent, guardian or member can contact admin@walkingfooty.com about an underage account, a correction or removal. Please provide a profile link or username and a brief explanation, not identity documents or unnecessary personal information.

If you are 13 to 17, avoid posting your address, school, phone number or other private information. Use Report and Block for unwanted contact, and speak to a trusted adult if anything worries you. Guest Players is restricted to adults aged 18 and over.

Information we collect

We collect information you provide when you register, update your profile, or contact us. This can include your name, username, email address, date of birth, and optional profile details such as location, club information, and contact preferences.

We also collect basic technical data needed to keep the site secure and operating (for example, session identifiers, log data, and IP address).

How we use your information

  • To provide and maintain your account and profile.
  • To deliver site features, such as clubs, tournaments, and community tools.
  • To send essential emails like verification and password resets (unless you opt out of transactional emails).
  • If you opt in, to send marketing updates and newsletters.
  • To improve site security and prevent spam or abuse.

Phone notifications in our apps

Notification information updated 23 October 2026. Walking Footy and FootyFixturs offer optional phone notifications when available on your device. Your Walking Footy account remains the shared account for both apps.

If you enable notifications, we associate an app-installation notification token with your signed-in session, app and device platform. We use Google's Firebase Cloud Messaging and, on iPhone, Apple's Push Notification service to deliver them. Those providers process installation or device identifiers and the technical information needed for delivery. Their processing may take place outside the UK. See Firebase's privacy information and Apple's privacy information for their practices.

Our notification payload says only that you have new activity. It does not include your date of birth, FAN ID, contact details, private message or post text, or match details. Open the signed-in app to see the information your account is permitted to access. We do not use this notification setup for advertising or enable Google Analytics in it.

You can turn phone notifications off in the app or your phone settings. Turning them off in the app removes that session's server registration and requests deletion of its messaging token. Signing out, revoking an app session or deleting your account also removes the associated server registration. Messages already delivered to your phone are controlled by the phone. Website and in-app notifications remain available independently.

Cookies

We use essential cookies to keep you signed in and secure. You can choose whether to allow non-essential cookies. If you decline non-essential cookies, some features (such as anti-spam checks) may not be available. You can change your choice anytime via Cookie options.

Sharing and disclosure

We do not sell your data. We only share information when required to provide the service (for example, email delivery) or when legally required.

If Walking Footy United is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify users of any such change where required.

Data retention

We retain your account data while your account is active or as needed to provide the service. You can request deletion of your account by contacting us.

In either app, open You, then Your data & privacy to export your data, manage signed-in app sessions, or delete your shared account after confirming your password. Account deletion affects Walking Footy, FootyFixturs and the website. If you own a club, league, tournament or competition, transfer or delete it first; administrators must transfer their administrator role. Contact us if you need help completing these steps.

Your choices

  • Update your profile information in your account settings.
  • Opt in or out of marketing communications at any time after registration.
  • You can also opt out of transactional emails after registration, although this may affect account access, verification, and password recovery.
  • Request access to or deletion of your personal data by contacting us via the contact form.
  • Manage cookie preferences via the cookie options link.
